This includes your antenatal care from time of booking, during labour, and postnatally, up to 6 weeks after birth. I will be on call for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from time of booking. The costs of the backup midwife are also covered.
It excludes investigations like blood tests, ultrasound scans, consultations with private obstetricians or other consultants, TENS and birth pool hire. If you are eligible for NHS care your GP can arrange scans and blood tests for you free of cost. You can also opt to have them performed at an independent lab or fetal medicine centre, which I will happily arrange for you.
If a transfer to an NHS hospital becomes necessary or is desired by you, any hospital treatment you receive is covered by the NHS. Our usual role in this context is one of advocacy and support for you and your partner.
If you are interested in my services you can arrange a consultation appointment with me. This lasts about an hour and gives you the opportunity to raise any questions you have regarding your pregnancy and plans for birth. You get to meet me and find out what I can offer you and how we might work together throughout your childbirth experience. It will take place in the privacy of your own home.
To secure my availability once you have decided to book my services you are required to pay a non-returnable booking fee of £500, which will also be deducted from the total cost of your care. This payment is due before or at your booking visit.
Full payment is required by 36 weeks. If you book late in pregnancy the full payment will be required at your booking visit. This enables you to have peace of mind that my services are reserved, that you no longer need to be concerned with money while you are birthing and caring for your baby, and that I am available for you whenever you need me.
For clients who have booked with me for midwifery care I am happy to share my alternative healing knowledge with you during the period of your care. If you require treatment for a specific condition I charge $30 to cover the extra time involved.
